ProVia - Hardware falls apart within a few years - not under warranty
For the amount we spent on these doors, we expected quality.
The first issue which involved the deadbolt not working on one of the new exterior doors, was remedied by ProVia sending new hardware. We had to install it ourselves (or pay to have it installed, but this was not too bad.)
However, when the handle of the storm door fell off, we were told that the hardware warranty for the exterior doors is only for a year and we would have to pay for it. I would have to buy the entire unit, not just the cheap washers and screw bolt that fell apart. Furthermore it would take weeks for them to get back to our distributor with even a quote!
The store door as a whole appears cheaply made, including the fact that the entire peice that hold the storm door up is plastic.
We would have been better off with the inexpensive hardware store storm doors! (I am quoting 1/4 of the price of the installation of 2 sets of doors, because I do not have the price of the hardware yet.)
Monetary Loss: $3000.

I just came from a provia dealer, ready to purchase a storm door. After reading your review, I decided to buy a different brand. Thanks for your helpful review.
